The Evans visit the Hatchery

Thursday morning Quent called me from the hatchery and asked if I knew a Peter and Linda Evans. Of course I know the Evans, but why are you asking me if I know my parent's neighbors at 8:30 a.m.?

Peter had visited with my Dad the previous weekend and had mentioned how much they liked the Mantua area and asked about us and the hatchery. My dad said that they should stop by sometime as we would love to show them the operations of the hatchery. (My dad also mentioned that all state hatcheries are closed to the public but because they are family friends that he was sure it was ok if they stopped by.)

So on Thursday, Peter found the number for the Hatchery and gave Quent a call and said they were headed to Rexburg for the weekend to visit their oldest son Nate and asked if it was ok if they stopped by. Quent not knowing exactly who they are said "Sure, come on up, any friend of Tom's is a friend of ours."

Peter and Linda found the hatchery a few hours later and spent about 90 minutes with us before continuing on their journey. It was great to visit with some great friends. The picture below is Peter and Linda with their two youngest sons, Spencer and Morgan.

Peter and Linda moved into our neighborhood when I was in Jr. High and have been great friends of the family ever since. Right after I got my drivers licence, Linda was diagnosed with an eye condition that did not allow her to drive. I was her driver for just over a year, running errands with her and for her as well as taking the children to various cousins' houses to play. I also had the chance to work with Peter while I was at the Jazz. He was a marketing consultant with HomeCourt Magazine, when I first started working with the Jazz.
