Fixing the water line part two...

On Monday the construction crew returned to Mantua to put in a shut off valve between our houses and the hatchery in case the pipe breaks again between our house and the hatchery and what Quent thought would be a couple hour project turned into a day filled with a muddy mess and one big headache!

Plans of the water pipes were filed away in the hatchery so in theory it would be easy to dig up the line and place a shut off valve right outside our fence, however, that was not the case. Once the crew started digging, they discovered there were more pipes and several "t" joints that went no where but after a long day and us having a six-foot pile of dirt in our driveway the shut off valve was inserted, a random pipe was taken out (so we don't have to have the water run 24/7 in the raceway that is no longer used) and we were with water by about 4 p.m.

Luckily I was at school most of the day and didn't have to deal with it. Quent will be happy to share a more detailed account of our water problems, but trust me my simple recap is probably best as Quent's blood pressure still rises a bit when he talks about it.

I don't have pictures of the Monday dig but I think the hatchery guys got some, I'll see what I can dig up!
