Quent and I ventured over to Tremonton to the Box Elder County Fair. I haven't been to a county fair for years and was excited to see all the farm animals. Once we got over there I realized I didn't have the camera and let me tell you there was plenty to take pictures of.
From produce to baked goods to quilts, the 4-H kids had everything covered. I was excited to see the pigs, and was rather disgusted at their cages. I am not sure if I was expecting a scene out of Charlotte's Web where the pigs would all be clean and in large spacious cages but what we saw was not exactly what I thought we'd see, I will spare everyone the details of the pigs living conditions. (Quent did remind me that they would be bacon soon, so it really didn't matter how tight their quarters were.)
There were bunnies and piegons, chickens and swans. I had never seen chickens so large in my life, it was crazy. (I think I know where the extra-large eggs come from)
There was a Beatles tribute band playing at the grandstand it was fun to walk around the fair and sing along with the Beatles. Quent bought a funnel cake (because you can't go to the fair and not get one) and I bought fresh made corn nuts, YUMMY!
After a couple of hours we decided that we had spent enough time in Tremonton and headed back to the small quiet town of Mantua.
