My mom and dad hosted the March Birthday Dinner on Sunday and once again I took the camera and didn't take one picture. I need to get back on that. I'm behind on my 365 Photo Challenge and I haven't taken a picture in about two weeks.
It was a fun dinner at my mom and dad's house. Once again it was Quent's weekend to work so he stayed home while I headed south for a few hours. One of these days we're going to have to make sure he isn't working on the second weekend of the month so he can attend the family shin-digs.

Weekend Retreat
I was invited to a scrapbook retreat with my sister-in-law Joy this past weekend and we had a great time. We had so much fun the camera didn't even come out once. SHOCKING I know!
We left Thursday night and traveled to the cabin in Bear Lake where we met up with 18 other women for a weekend of chatter, scrapbooking and food. Thursday night we stayed up until 4 a.m. which by Friday I realized I am much too old to be staying up until 4 a.m.
I worked on our wedding album, I figured after three and a half years of marriage I should get something put together. The album is almost finished, I created a digital scrapbook and am excited to finally get it printed. Friday night Joy and I went to bed about 11 p.m. just as everyone else was starting a movie. Needless to say I slept for about eight hours and it was fabulous.
I arrived home about 6:30 p.m. Saturday night and Quent took me to dinner, it was a fabulous weekend!

Crazy 24 hours!
As most everyone knows I have been looking for a job for the past six months or so and recently had a string of interviews, some good some indifferent and some right down crazy.
On Thursday I had a job offer and a fourth interview with a company (yes four interviews, that in and of itself is worth eight blog posts but I don't want to bore you with random details.) I was fairly confident that I was going to get the job offer with the company that I had my fourth interview with but that wouldn't come until at least Monday. I had spoken to the first company and told them I needed some time to weigh my options factoring in that I might have another offer on the table by Monday.
After a long night of hashing everything out Quent and I came to the conclusion that I would accept the offer from the company that offered the job on Thursday and move forward!
First thing Friday morning the phone started ringing (and when I mean first thing I mean 8:00 a.m., Quent and I had just gotten out of bed as he had the day off and we were up past midnight talking about what to do.)
Well the call Friday morning happened to be another job offer. This offer was for a company that I had interviewed with a few weeks ago and had been turned down. They suddenly had an opening as the person who had accepted the job had another job offer and had decided to take that job and move on as it paid more and was more of what she wanted to do.
To make a long story short I ended up accepting the job offer for the company who called on Friday morning so all the talking and no sleeping Thursday was for not because I ended up turning both of those jobs down. By Friday at 11:30 a.m. I had been to the HR office and was on the job!
Now for my job, I am working for the Box Elder School District and due to the nature of my job I can't really go into details on a public blog. If you're interested in what I'm doing send me an email and I'll fill you in!

Birds Birds and more Birds!
With all the snow and Quent keeping the bird feeder full we've had quite a collection of birds. Not much else going on so I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.

One to three inches ... or more.
So if this is what 1-3 inches of snow looks like I'd hate to see 12-24 inches. The forecast was for just a few inches, it was over 40 degrees yesterday and hit 50 earlier in the week. We didn't have any snow on the ground (except for the big snow piles that have been plowed up against the fence and even those piles were melting). The rain started about 8:15 p.m. last night and by the time Quent ran to Brigham City and back (by 9:00 p.m.) the temperature had dropped from 36 to 30 and we had an inch of snow and it's been snowing every since. We're up to about 15 inches and it's still snowing strong.
Quent was able to break out the snow blower he got for the Hatchery. He spent about 3 hours in the truck this morning plowing out the hatchery and spent a little time Post Optionson our driveway. (I did actually start to shovel but it was a heavy wet snow with slush on the bottom, the snow blower worked much better.)
We're supposed to warm up tomorrow and more snow in next weekend's forecast.

Valentine's Day!
Quent and I celebrated Valentine's Day the entire weekend. (Or at least everything we did he made sure that it was part of my Valentine's Day present). We started the weekend Saturday morning at Angie's for breakfast, Quent's favorite restaurant in Logan.
Valentine's Day took us to a fun Mexican restaurant in Tremonton. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Food is served on a 16 inch round platter, go hungry and plan on sharing a plate.
Quent got me roses and I made him cupcakes. It was fun spending the weekend with him.

Happy Birthday Dad
The Superbowl fell on my dad's birthday this year so we had a birthday/Superbowl party at Nicole's house. We had a great time watching the game although no one really was cheering for either team. The commercials were great and we had enough food to feed a truck load of people.

Around the county
Finally we found an eagle on the hatchery...not too close to take good pictures but we managed to take a few. After we took a million pictures of the eagle on the hatchery we decided take a drive west to Corrine to see if we could spot more eagles. The eagles were out but way to far to get good shots. Here is what we were able to get.

Around the yard
Quent and I went down to the pond and captured the ducks. With all the subzero temperatures there isn't a lot of open water around. We've had close to 30 ducks around on the pond and the stream. Quent is much better at which duck is which, I do know there are quite a few mallards, a few golden eyes and a wigeon. (I think)
