I have finally found a job!!! I started working for Mineral Resources International on Tuesday, April 28. I am working in the Marketing & Sales department doing a little bit of everything right now including customer service, administrative support and marketing.
The company produces dietary supplements from minerals they harvest from the Great Salt Lake. The company is based in West Haven (west of Ogden), Utah about 25 miles away from Mantua. The commute is great as there is no traffic and the speed limit down the highway is 75 miles per hour.
It's been somewhat of an adjustment for us as it is the first time in our married life that we've both been working. It's been fun to get back into the swing of things and learn more about the world of supplements. Believe me there is a lot to learn.
I'll try to keep everyone posted on the progress of the job.

Long Overdue Update
Greetings from Mantua!!! It appears Quent and I have been slacking on updating the blog. Here is a quick run down since our last post.
We had Quent's family up for Easter dinner, it was fun to see them and enjoy some good food. The Monday after Easter we helped Kerry move some of her boxes from Bill & Joyce's house to a storage unit, nothing like moving boxes.
Other than that we've been pretty boring. Just trying to keep up with laundry and the hatchery we've been pretty quiet around here.

Dying Easter Eggs
Quent and decided to dye Easter eggs on Friday night. Neither of us had dyed eggs in years and we thought it would be fun to dye a dozen or two.
We decided on the basic PAAS dye and to my concern there wasn't a crayon in the box for us to put or names on our eggs. Of course any old crayon would have worked but of course we didn't think about that at the time.
Here are some pictures of our dying event. We decided that we wanted real dark eggs so we let the eggs sit in the color for quite awhile, it took a little bit more patience than I remember having as a kid.

Around the Hatchery
Quent had me take some pictures of the hatchery building today as they did not have any current photos. Most of the pictures I've seen were taken circa 1980 so we thought we'd update the stock. In turn I get to put them on the blog.
These pictures are just of the hatchery building where the eggs and just hatched eggs are kept. We'll post pictures of the raceways and the "larger" fish sometime soon.

Taking the long way home
Quent and I returned from Cody on Tuesday, March 31. After driving two hours, the weather was clear and we and we knew there was a storm blowing in to southwestern wyoming but we figured we could beat the storm and travel home through Jackson Hole. This little detour added about four hours to our drive but we decided that it would be worth it as Quent has never been to Jackson and he didn't have to work on Wednesday.
While driving through the Tetons we stopped and took some pictures of a couple different moose. We also went to the elk winter feeding grounds just outside of Jackson to see how man elk were still in their winter area.
We arrived home just after 7:00 p.m. after the snow storm hit us just outside Logan Canyon.

Happy 80th Birthday Grandma!
The entire family traveled to Cody, Wyoming to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday. Her official birthday was Sunday but we decided to have an open house for her on Saturday at one of the local hotels.
The weather was a little sketchy and several of us had quite the time getting to and from Cody however we were all able to make it by Friday evening and after some delay on the return, we all returned home and had a great time celebrating Grandma's birthday.

Serious Wind Storm!
I wish I'd witnessed the wind storm we had last night but unfortunately I only saw the mess it created. When I woke up this morning, Quent had left me a note telling me that the St. Patrick's Day flag that was so nicely displayed on a flag pole on the front of the house was in the backyard...I figured the flag had ripped and had gone sailing around the yard.
When I opened the screen door to retrieve my cute St. Patrick's Day Flag it was still on the pole! Apparently the wind caught the flag and pole just right and ripped it out of the holder and it sailed over the house. Now I'm not exactly sure how this happens, but we don't have any neighbors that would pull such a prank, so we can only guess it happened with the extreme wind last night.
I guess I'm going to have to remember to take the flag pole down when the wind picks up.

Things are not as they appear
First let me preface this post by adding that it was over 40 degrees here yesterday and the 24 inches of snow we received the first part of the week is melting nicely.
This morning Quent decided he needed a diet coke so being the great and wonderful wife that I am I ran down to Brigham (as the locals call it) to get him a mega 52 ounce diet coke. In my excitement of the clear blue skies and the bright yellow sun I threw on a vest and flip-flops. Not my brightest move. Once in the Jeep the outside temperature read 10 degrees (I knew it was only 5 degrees in Logan this morning so I'm not sure why I would have thought it would be warmer here.) My toes immediately froze however I did not return to get shoes, I proceeded to town and returned with ice cold diet coke and frozen toes.
On the bright side it's supposed to be almost 50 degrees here tomorrow and even warmer next week. With Spring just around the corner, I'm hoping it will be flip-flop season soon.

Doing Better
Quent is back to work after his 12 day cold/sinus infection/bronchitis. Oh the wonders of modern medicine! We woke up to about eight inches of new snow and have had about 4-5 more since then and it's still snowing, and it isn't supposed to stop anytime soon. On the bright side it's supposed to be 50 by the weekend.

Quick Update
Well not much to report ... Quent has been pretty sick with a head cold/sinus infection and finally went to the doctor today. Hopefully he'll start feeling better soon. Other than that things are status quo.
